It's actually the best way to enjoy original GB carts. Running the system using RGB with the black border you get perfect 1:1 Gameboy games on your CRT looking absolutely perfect. So you end up with unnatural smoothing in addition to tiny hitches every few seconds as a result of the screen timing.īy comparison, the Super GameBoy for SNES/SFC is an absolute dream. The GB Player simply runs at 640x480 and upscales the GBA games to fit within that resolution. I'm doing all of my retro gaming on a Sony CRT and like my pixels razor sharp. Unfortunately, I soon discovered that the GB Player kind of sucks.
Had to grab another disc in order to get it working. Yeah, I actually bought one of those used and it shipped with a scratched disc.
