Not surprisingly, I highly recommend Skype to any small business user who needs to make a lot of international calls. Instead of racking up a phone bill that could possibly rival the pittance that I might be paid for the story, I can call Stockholm for a dollar or two. This week, I’m starting to work on a story that involves calls to Sweden, and Skype makes those calls quite affordable. Thanks to e-mail, mobile phones and Skype I’m able to keep my communication costs down. This means added expenses, but with an equal amount of tax deductions (which of course I always notice this time of the year). As a freelance writer I work from my home office.
